Aloha!

Last year I attended the Maui Film Festival in Wailea, and had such a great time that I’m excited to go see it again in a couple weeks.  It’s going to be June 15th to the 19th at the MACC in Kahului and at Wailea Gold & Emerald Golf Course in Wailea.  I’ve already scoped out their website to plan which nights I want to go and which shows I want to see.  If you’re just visiting Maui or live here, it’s an event that I highly recommend

The Celestial Cinema is a giant inflatable screen positioned on a hillside that has seating areas and aisles marked off.  Because the crowds can be huge, it’s best to arrive early to get the best location, namely, toward the front and in the center.  Bring beach blankets, pillows, or low lawn chairs, and definitely a flashlight.  Make a picnic of it!  There are plenty of food and beverage vendors there, too.  The easiest way to manage traffic and parking is to drive to The Shops at Wailea and take the free shuttle bus from there to the grounds.
